Chocolate nut balls

This chocolate nut ball is a quick and delicious recipe made from nuts and condensed milk. Though ‘Trick or Treat’ is impossible during this time of COVID, kids’ enthusiasm for chocolates never fades. So, I decided to try out a homemade chocolate ball which could be an alternate for the store-bought chocolates. Let’s jump into the recipe.

1 can of condensed milk (approx. 2 cups)

1 tablespoon of curd

¼ cup of chocolate syrup

crushed almonds, pistachios, and cranberries

Preparation time 2- 3 hours

Pour the whole can of condensed milk in a very large bowl, basically the bowl should be of a size that could hold ten times this milk quantity. This is to ensure that the milk does not flow out of the bowl when microwaved. Mix the condensed milk with a spoon of curd and stir it well.

Now place the bowl inside the microwave for 1 minute. Remove the bowl after a minute and stir it well and place it back inside the microwave for another 1 minute. Repeat the process until the mixture becomes a smooth paste. This should be achieved in a total of 5 minutes; but please make sure to remove the bowl after each minute and check on the mixture so it is not burnt.

Once the above-mentioned consistency is achieved, place the mixture in a chocolate mold ; if you do not have a chocolate mold pour the mixture in the bowl and place it in freezer.

After one hour, remove the bowl and check on the consistency of the paste. The paste should not be sticky, and you should be able to make a smooth ball out of it, if the mixture has not reached the desired consistency leave it in the freezer a little longer. Try to make smooth balls by applying some butter on your hands so it is not sticky.

Once the balls are made, roll it over in a spread of nuts and then dip it in chocolate syrup and place it in the freezer again.

After an hour, check on the chocolate balls if the syrup has solidified completely. Once solidified, remove the chocolate balls, garnish with a lavish spread of nuts and serve. If you prefer a nut free chocolate ball, please eliminate the nuts, and try the recipe.
